What will you do if a heavy missile barrage shuts down your shields? Reroute all power to the engines in an attempt to escape, power up additional weapons to blow your enemy out of the sky, or take the fight to them with a boarding party? This "spaceship simulation roguelike-like" allows you to take your ship and crew on an adventure through a randomly generated galaxy filled with glory and bitter defeat.

by Man-o-apps If you are into good games, buy this app. If you are into bad games, buy this app and change your ways. You will enjoy every moment of playing this game, and you will never stop playing. With all the different ships, scenarios, and achievements to beat, your fun will never end.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with FTL, this gem of an indie game started out on the computer and was ingeniously turned into this app. It brings forth a retro gaming experience, and has exceptional gameplay and music. It is perfection. Some may say though that what happens in this app is based too much off of random numbers. Those people are dumb. Don't listen to them and just buy this app.
For those of you already familiar with FTL, you will not be disappointed. The controls are nearly the same, if not better. A main benefit being you can turn auto fire on for individual weapons, instead of all of them. In addition, this IOS version loads just as fast and runs just as smoothly as the PC. It even includes advanced addition.
So if this doesn't convince you to buy this, too bad for you. If it does, great. __play for an hour, __play for a day, play all year. The time spent will not detract from the fun. And if you ever get stuck, remember these two things: giant alien spiders ARE a joke, and leave unless you have an antibio beam or boarding drone, and if you are unsure about anything, check the FTL wiki.
Masterfully Built
by mting622 The developers obviously put in a lot of effort in this game, since they not only topped steam charts with the PC version, but they also managed to (very) successfully port the game over to iOS. The game itself is a very fun rogue-like game that is set in space. You are the captain of the kestrel, a federation ship that is tasked with delivering information vital to the survival of the federation. While trying to complete this mission, you will encounter many obstacles that will hinder your progress, but with patience and strategy, you will eventually complete your mission. This game is different every time, and even if you complete the story with the kestrel, there are still many more ships to explore, and as a bonus, there is also the advanced edition content which adds in many more races, enemies, equipment, and side-quests. Overall, this is a thrilling strategy game for anyone that is interested in investing $5 for a wonderful way game. This game is well worth the cost since the soundtrack alone is already about the same price on steam. In conclusion, this game is basically perfect in every way since all the game mechanics lock together to form a very solid game with great gameplay, storyline, and soundtrack.
This is the most addictive, frustratingly fun game in history! Worth the buy!
by Atomicdogma I won't pull punches, this game is hard. The word difficult does it no justice, and that is a huge part of how fun and rewarding it is. The randomly generated maps and events makes it a new game every time you play, forcing you to adjust your tactics and strategies. It's resource management, real-time strategy, and space battle simulation all in one. Want to defend your ship with automated attack drones, go for it! Or would you rather be a starship laden in plasma cannons, missles and laser blasters? You can do that too! You can even have a ship that cloaks from enemy sensors and relies on its engines and pilot to evade enemy attacks. Don't even get me started about the half dozen races of species (each with their own specialties) with which you can man your ships many rooms and attack and defense systems. A careful management of defense, attack, and life support capabilities are the only way you will reach the last level and potentially beat the dreaded Mother Ship! Worth every penny. Been playing this for years.
